Crimea is preparing to release flood waters

Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Sadakliev instructed to strengthen control over preparations for the trouble-free passage of rain and flood waters.
In order to ensure the safety of the population and promptly respond to possible emergencies caused by floods, on behalf of the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Sadakliev, interdepartmental working groups will be created with the participation of employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Crimea to monitor for the presence of congestion in river beds and the threat of flooding of adjacent territories within populated areas— reported the emergency department.
From February 1 to 9, operational working groups will conduct on-site monitoring in the Simferopol, Belogorsk and Bakhchisaray districts. Also, to obtain operational information, employees of “CRIMEA-SPAS” and “Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea” regularly inspect river beds during preventive work with the population. If places that pose a potential threat are identified, information about them will be immediately transmitted to local authorities.
