Republican cultural institutions took part in the VIII All-Russian campaign “Give books with love”, dedicated to the International Book Giving Day.
The main idea of the campaign is to inspire people to give each other good books and remind that a paper book does not lose its value and still remains a relevant gift. As part of the campaign, book collections and thematic events are traditionally organized at library sites.
Readers of the Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library named after. AND I. Franco, authorities, publishers, bookstores, charities and social organizations took an active part in the action. Thus, the Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Republic of Crimea donated more than a thousand copies of socially significant publications to the libraries of the peninsula.
The representative office of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Simferopol donated new books to the library collections: “Russian Diplomats Timeless” and “Heavenly Patrons of the States of the World. Christianity and the place of Orthodoxy in the world.»
Friends and partners of the library, Premier Book LLC, also joined the action, donating new gift publications on art, local history and fiction to the Central Library of Crimea.
Artist, writer, literary critic Shevket Keshfidinov donated three collective monographs from a series dedicated to the natural world in the space of culture.
In turn, library specialists donated children’s illustrative publications — encyclopedias, interactive books and classics of children’s fiction — to KROORDI «GROWTH». The library has prepared a virtual review, which presents literature received as a gift from writers.
The donors at the Crimean Republican Library for Youth were responsive readers and library employees, as well as regular participants in the event. This year’s patrons were: the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea, IP «Yasnitsky M.V.», «Publishing House N. Orianda», Research Center for Crimean Studies and Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Crimea, LLC «Premier-Kniga», Crimean authors Nina Zyuzko, Yulia Melnik and Alexander Krotko— reported the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
Over 300 publications donated by readers and partners will replenish the book collection of libraries in new regions of the Russian Federation. Some of the books were donated to organizations working with young people in difficult life situations.
The book exhibition “Give Books with Love” was organized within the library’s walls, notable for the richness and variety of publications on display.
