Crimean customs sums up the results of work in law enforcement in 2023

In 2023, Crimean customs officers, while carrying out official activities, seized hundreds of units of military goods, more than 500 grams of potent and psychotropic substances, as well as thousands of units of unmarked excisable products.
12 criminal cases were initiated, including 3 criminal cases under Part 1 of Art. 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling of military goods by sending products in international mail to foreign countries), 2 criminal cases — under Art. 194 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (evasion of customs duties on an especially large scale, which arose due to non-compliance with the conditions for the use of goods placed under the customs procedure “Free Customs Zone”, the total amount of damage amounted to 13.6 million rubles)— reports the press service of the Crimean customs.
In criminal cases initiated by the Crimean Customs, the courts in 2023 rendered six convictions, in two of which the defendants were sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 3 to 5 years, in one case a court fine was imposed.
Also in 2023, Crimean Customs initiated 444 cases of administrative offenses, and executed 95 decisions in cases of administrative violations. Administrative fines amounting to 428 thousand rubles were transferred to the treasury, and property worth more than 2 million rubles was confiscated.
