Employees of the Sevastopol Rescue Service trained on difficult mountainous terrain
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The search and rescue team of the Sevastopol Rescue Service conducted a training session on difficult mountainous terrain.
Mountain rescuers practiced the skills of using special equipment in places where there is a risk of falling from a height.
For some rescuers, this is their first experience of such work, and more experienced colleagues showed how to use climbing equipment and how to move on difficult terrain.
We train rescuers from a unit that has not previously specialized in working in the mountains— said the head of the search and rescue unit «South» Viktor Tarasov.
We worked on two locations — moving along horizontal railings and descending/ascending along vertical railings. Also, it was important to work out the coordination of the team’s actions when transporting the victim on a steep section of rock,” said deputy head of the search and rescue team Andrei Ivashkov.
