Experts of the Russian society «Knowledge» discussed with the Crimean youth the development of ecotourism in the republic

What is ecological tourism, where are its epicenters located and how to develop ecological routes, the lecturers of the Russian society «Knowledge» told the young participants of the «Smart Route» forums in Crimea. Events passed 25 and 21 July in the Bakhchisaray district on the site of the Children’s Health Center «Sokol» and 25 July at the «Boiling Point» of the Sevastopol State University. Educational forums brought together more than a hundred young environmental activists and revealed a genuine interest in this topic.
A relatively new, but every year more and more popular direction of tourism — ecological tourism — has become the main topic of the youth forums of the educational organization. The events, which included lectures, master classes, interactive games, not only broadened the horizons of young listeners, but also became a platform for discussing new creative eco-ideas of youth and Knowledge experts , the event organizers note.
At the opening of the forum in Sevastopol, its participants were greeted by the Acting Deputy Head of the Department for Youth Affairs and Youth Policy of the Department for Youth Affairs of the city of Sevastopol Veronika Aksyutina:
The movement of environmental volunteers has been actively developing in Sevastopol for several years. The guys participate in educational forums, implement the received grants. Many have repeatedly used various support measures provided by both the Department of Youth and Sports of Sevastopol and the Federal Agency for Youth and Sports.
The expert also spoke about new youth projects that are being implemented in the city. For example, the Ecokayaking volunteer project was launched: volunteers will go out to sea in kayaks, land on little-known wild beaches where there is already garbage, collect it and process it into interesting useful items. Veronika Aksyutina also mentioned various competitions, including all-Russian ones, thanks to participation in which eco-volunteers can develop their projects.
One of the main speeches of the speakers was devoted to the development of Crimea as a future center of ecological tourism. Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology and Tourism of the Crimean Federal University named after V.I. V. I. Vernadsky, member of the Council of the Russian Geographical Society in the Republic of Crimea Igor Vakhrushev.
Ecotourism is a young direction, and its main idea is that it is a journey to untouched corners of nature, where a person can feel like a part of this nature, disconnect from the bustle of the city. In Crimea, there are many territories that have preserved pristine nature. Involving them in tourism activities — sparing — through ecological trails, glamping, which will take into account the requirements for protecting the environment, is very much in demand today. And since there is a demand for ecological tourism, our reserves are striving to create more options for ecotourists to visit untouched places , the lecturer emphasizes.
Igor Vakhrushev also gave a lecture on modern eco-tourism epicenters, namely national reserves. Among them are the Crimean Nature Reserve, the Yalta Mountain and Forest Reserve, and the Opuksky Reserve. The speaker dwelled in detail on the features of tourism in specially protected natural areas and explained why amazing natural landscapes require human attention and care.
Ecotourism in general, its basic principles, current trends were told by ecologist, ecospeaker Veronika Nechaeva in the lecture «Ecotourism: how to travel in an eco-friendly way».
The lecturers also shared their experience of studying ecological trails as ecotourist maps. Regional coordinator of the All-Russian public organization of environmental volunteers «Do!» in Sevastopol Alexandra Shumkova explained to the audience what ecotrails are and who designs them, where the most popular ones are located and what role they play in ecotourism.
Master classes and interactive games of the forum were devoted to the creation of eco-routes. The development of eco-routes aroused great interest and involvement: choosing a place, drawing up a program, studying organizational subtleties. Master classes for young listeners were conducted by Alexandra Shumkova, and interactive games by Igor Vakhrushev.
At the end of the forum, its most active participants were awarded, they received memorable prizes from the Russian society «Knowledge».
