Explosives technicians of the Sevastopol OMON «Berkut» examined ammunition from the times of the Great Patriotic War
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Specialists of the engineering and technical group of OMON «Berkut-S» conducted a survey of unexploded ordnance discovered by the search engines of the «Duty» detachment during search operations in Sevastopol. The search engines reported suspicious objects found to law enforcement agencies.
Arriving at the scene, specialists from the engineering and technical group of OMON «Berkut-S» of the Russian Guard conducted a survey of ammunition and found that the search engines found 111 mortar mines (29 mines of 50-mm caliber and 82 mines of 82 mm caliber) from the Great Patriotic War. Mortar mines were not fired and were stored in wooden boxes. Previously, the ammunition remained in one of the trenches at the positions of the Soviet troops during the defense of the Hero City in 1941— noted in the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Guard for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Sevastopol).
Explosive technicians of the special forces transferred information about explosive objects to the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Sevastopol for their subsequent disposal.
