Extortionist punished in Feodosia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Feodosia, the city court pronounced a verdict in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty under paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion).
The court found that in 2019, the defendant and three of his acquaintances, who had previously been convicted, agreed to extort money from a resident of the region. Arriving at the territory of the victim’s household, the men, threatening her, demanded to transfer the rights to ½ part of the household or funds in the amount of 200 thousand US dollars, uttering threats against her and her close relatives. For three days, these citizens continued to be in the victim’s home, monitoring her actions and movements.
After this, the woman agreed to the illegal demands of the convicts, promising to sign the necessary documents transferring ownership of ½ share of the home ownership. The actions of the convicts were suppressed by employees of the internal affairs bodies— the prosecutor’s office reported details of the case.
Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced the man to 4 years in prison, which he will serve in a maximum security correctional colony. Previously, the male accomplices were sentenced to 7 and 8 years in prison in strict and special regime correctional colonies.
