Flag of Kerch visited the North Pole
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Schoolgirl from Kerch Lera Mallaeva, as I promised, went out on the ice of the North Pole with the flag of the Hero’s hometown. Lera told the site KERCH.COM about the fact that her trip on the icebreaker is now over, and shared her general impressions.
One of the strongest impressions was made on Leroux by the nuclear icebreaker “50 Years of Victory” itself — a giant ship that is controlled by a large, but invisible to passengers, crew. Kerchanka admitted that most of all she wanted to see how the ship moves in the ice, making its way.
Such incredible power breaks the ice! First there are cracks, and blocks of ice of pure azure color turn over and boil, roll on each other. I was ready to watch it for hoursLera said.
The Kerchanka will not forget the meeting with the land of Franz Josef, its islands and archipelagos, bird rookery, walruses and polar bears.
We were very lucky with the weather, we saw sunsets of incredible beauty.— said the Kerchanka.
The goal of the journey — landing on top of the world — was reached on August 19. Lera will never forget this day: in the morning all the guys jumped up and got dressed, excited in anticipation of going out on the ice. Memorable was the countdown remaining to the pole meters. 200, 100… and here it is! The scouts stepped forward, checking the security of the territory, and only then allowed the children to go out. They were overwhelmed with emotions, shouting, taking pictures, recording videos as a memento of visiting the North Pole. A chess game was held there, as well as an educational lecture; the guys crossed all the meridians in a few minutes — they made the fastest trip on planet Earth.
We were supposed to be on the ice floe for 3.5 hours, but this time flashed by too quicklyLera admitted.
Having made an honorary circle, the icebreaker set off on the return journey.
I used to learn about the North Pole from books written by great travelers, famous photographers, and scientists. And now I’ve been there myself, and it seems incredibly wonderful to me.— said the young traveler.
