And «Black Pearl»?
On October 30, a unique exhibition by Vladimir Kunz “Ships in Bottles” will open at the Feodosia Museum of Fish and Fisheries, timed to coincide with the celebration of International Black Sea Day. This is reported by Tourist portal of Crimea.
The exhibition will feature 20 exhibits created by international class master Vladimir Kunz. He has been interested in ship modeling since childhood, and has been involved in the “bottle” type of this craft since 2011. The author is a participant in various competitions: Russian champion in bench model ship modeling 2014-2016, European champion in bench model ship modeling 2015, gold medalist of the 2014 World Championship.
Guests of the exhibition will be able to personally communicate with Vladimir Ivanovich and ask him questions.
The art of making ships in bottles originated in Europe in the 17th-18th centuries. The sailors made models of ships and they decided to put them in bottles for safekeeping. Sailors are people all over the world, which is why such products have become popular. First we used the bottles that were on hand. Today, ultra-thin glass is used to make the ship clearly visible. Bottles made from such glass are quite difficult to produce, so they are expensive.— said the museum.
The exhibition will open on October 30 at 16:00 and can be seen until the end of November.
Address: Feodosia, ave. Aivazovsky, 45, building 7.
