On February 3, a concert dedicated to the opening of the Year of the Family took place in Sevastopol. During the concert, particles of fire from the all-Russian family hearth “Heart of Russia” were transferred to all Sevastopol registry offices. The ceremony was opened by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
In our difficult times, each of us has realized even more how important and valuable it is when loved ones and relatives are waiting at home, when the family hearth burns with a warm light and there is always support. On November 22, 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree declaring 2024 the Year of the Family. The first official event of the Year of the Family was the All-Russian Family Forum “Relatives — Loved Ones”, which was held at the international exhibition “Russia” at VDNKh. The event was attended by representatives of family dynasties from 89 regions of the country, large families, families of SVO participants, Heroes of Russia.
The culmination of the forum was the lighting of the all-Russian family hearth “Heart of Russia”. The fire for this hearth was brought from the Holy Trinity Monastery in Murom, the birthplace of Saints Peter and Fevronia. Sevastopol was represented at the forum by the Elizarov family. Vadim Elizarov and his wife Nina Marsheva founded the Dance Theater in the city more than 20 years ago. Today, the work of Vadim Elizarov is continued by his son Alexander and his wife Natalia. They brought the fire to Sevastopol, and today they handed over pieces of the all-Russian hearth to the family of Denis and Victoria Varvarin, whose naval wedding was celebrated on January 8 at VDNKh, and to all Sevastopol registry offices.
Now all newlyweds will be able to touch the All-Russian hearth. Everyone can bring their own lamps and take a piece of the hearth home: people who apply or register a marriage — on the days of visits to the registry office, and those who have been married for a long time — on Fridays and Saturdays.
