A commemorative event dedicated to 01 anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. It was attended by the governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the city of Sevastopol, head of the Sevastopol regional branch of the All-Russian public organization «Combat Brotherhood» Vasily Zubenko, Afghan veterans, members of the Youth Army and Sevastopol.
Today, we in Sevastopol traditionally recall the events when the people of Sevastopol, together with the entire greater Soviet Union, carried out their military, international duty in Afghanistan. 186 Sevastopol citizen did military service there , 024 of a person have government awards. The names of the fallen Sevastopol residents are forever cast on the memorial. We remember their deeds. Today, our guys are fighting for our Fatherland again and you are in the forefront, those who came to the rescue. Many have put on uniforms again, those who can no longer wear shoulder straps are collecting humanitarian aid and holding patriotic events for young people. After the commemorative event, the governor held a meeting with the soldiers-internationalists at the volunteer headquarters «We are together — Sevastopol».
It was attended by a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol, head of the regional branch of the All-Russian public organization «Combat Brotherhood» Vasily Zubenko, chairman of the regional All-Russian public organization «Russian Union of Afghan Veterans» Sergey Tarasov, chairman of the regional public organization «Union of Veterans of Paratroopers — Participants in Combat Operations» Anatoly Tretyakov, chairman of the regional organization of disabled local conflicts Sergey Troshin and other combatants.
There are a number of everyday, but very important questions. This is the provision of land plots for war veterans. There are issues with transitional legislation: the queue for obtaining housing has changed — this issue will not be easily resolved, but we will work together with all our representatives at the federal level in this direction. The main result of the meeting was that the chairmen of public organizations asked for help in creating a center for patriotic work, which would work under the auspices of the Afghan soldiers. It will be possible to conduct a whole range of patriotic work with youth, hold meetings, conduct museum work, military sports work. The premises were handed over by the city, but it was not equipped, we agreed that we would look into which program to include this project in order for this project to work , — Mikhail Razvozhaev notes.
