Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev on the construction of the Yuzhnye WWTP: “Work is progressing at a high pace”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Yuzhnye WWTP project provides for the construction of modern treatment facilities, a deep-water outlet in the Blue Bay area and a discharge collector from the WWTP site to the water’s edge. The length of the pipeline is 1,708.5 m.

The wastewater treatment plant is being built by Regional Construction Company LLC. Work on the construction of reinforced concrete tanks has already been completed, and work on the construction of a deep-sea outlet continues. Regarding the construction of the deep-sea outlet of the discharge collector, the onshore chambers are 100% ready, welding and installation work of pipeline strings is in the active phase, laying the pipeline in the design position. The concreting work for the mechanical wastewater treatment building, the horizontal sand trap, as well as the concrete work for the receiving chamber are 100% ready. Work on the construction of load-bearing structures of the administrative and amenity building has been completed. Concreting of the wet sludge pumping station structure is being completed. The new manifold gasket is half finished. Every day, 24 pieces of equipment are used at the site and 164 people work.

Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev on the construction of the Yuzhnye WWTP: “The work is progressing at a very high pace”

Mikhail Razvozhaev said today that work at the site is structured in such a way that the Yuzhnye WWTP will be launched in stages. This means that the quality of wastewater treatment will begin to improve even before all work is completed.

Work is progressing at a very high pace. The outlines of almost all objects are already visible. The primary treatment facilities have passed hydrotests, and now secondary treatment facilities and aeration tanks are being built. The issues with the removal of all communications that interfered with the development of the construction site have been resolved. For deep-sea release, work is underway in the Black Sea: the pipe is assembled on the shore and placed on the bottom of the bay. We agreed that the Yuzhnye WWTP will be launched in parts — ready-made equipment elements will be included in the technological process, which will improve the quality of wastewater treatment,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.

The work is progressing in accordance with the work schedule. The completion date of the facility is December 2024. Thanks to the updated project, the capacity of treatment facilities will reach 130 thousand cubic meters. m/day (with the possibility of increasing to 160 thousand).

We expect that by the end of November the entire project with all the new technologies will leave the examination. This will allow us to receive additional funding and continue our work quickly.notes Mikhail Razvozhaev.

According to Igor Shashkov, head of the Sevastopol directorate of FAU RosKapStroy, when constructing a deep-sea outlet, builders use new technology:

One of the technologies is being used, according to our information, for the first time. Our deep-water outlet is of great length — more than 1,700 meters; it is laid in the sea at great depths with weights. Moreover, the weights are not made of a ring type, but with a hidden reinforced concrete lock, eliminating the possibility of corrosion of metal elements.

Let us remind you that the Yuzhnye WWTP project now also provides for the construction of a more modern treatment system and excludes the construction of the 2nd stage of sewage treatment facilities in Balaklava — wastewater from Balaklava will be directly sent for treatment to the Yuzhnye WWTP.
