Dear Sevastopol residents!

Today the Orthodox world celebrates one of the twelfth holidays — the Baptism of the Lord.

We recall the Scripture, how Jesus Christ came to the Jordan River to fulfill the Father’s covenant and by his example to show people what the Christian faith is based on.

The sacrament of baptism for any believer is the beginning of the path to God. Many people who were baptized in childhood realize the importance of this act only in adulthood.

Faith is one of the foundations of the Russian state.

We are lucky to live on the holy land of Sevastopol — the cradle of Christianity throughout Rus’. And may our faith be strong and help us always!
