He took a piece of jewelry to repair, but misappropriated it — court verdict in Feodosia

The Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a resident of the Moscow region for embezzlement, that is, theft of someone else’s property entrusted to the culprit with causing significant damage to the citizen.
The court found that in June 2023, in the premises of the jewelry and mineralogical exhibition “Magic of Stone”, held in the recreation center “Chaika” in Feodosia, an oral agreement was reached between the defendant and his friend about the repair of gold jewelry, after which the latter handed it over to the defendant for repair of two gold bracelets of 585 standard, namely: a gold bracelet made of yellow metal weighing 36.38 g worth 145,520 rubles and a gold bracelet made of yellow and white metal weighing 2.54 g costing 10,160 rubles. Further, the defendant, in accordance with the previously reached agreement, did not repair and return the victim, did not fulfill the terms of the oral agreement, and handed over the said gold jewelry to LLC Pawnshop “Yug BFR”, thus stealing the gold jewelry entrusted to the victim for a total amount of 155 680 rubles having appropriated themnoted the press service of the court.
At the court hearing, the defendant admitted his guilt in the crime.
When passing a sentence, the court took into account information about the defendant’s personality, the presence of mitigating and aggravating circumstances.
Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the man to 1 (one) year and 8 (eight) months of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security colony.
