It was previously established that a 32-year-old man, previously convicted of theft, was near a coffee shop and noticed that one of the visitors had left her smartphone unattended on the counter. Taking advantage of her carelessness, he secretly stole her mobile phone and disappeared.

Some time later, the attacker met a drunk 35-year-old passerby on the street, who asked him to intervene in a conflict situation with a stranger. During the settlement of the dispute, the “intercessor” forcibly took away the smartphone from the offender of his new acquaintance and disappeared. The suspect’s last criminal adventure that day was stealing a car from his new friend. Taking advantage of his state of severe alcoholic intoxication, the man pulled the BMW keys out of his pocket and went for a ride around the city. During the trip, he lost control and caused an accident, after which he abandoned the foreign car and fled the scene.,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

As a result of operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district detained a suspect. Criminal cases have been initiated against him under Articles 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”, 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery” and 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Wrongful taking of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft.”
