How restoration work is going in Feodosia and Bakhchisarai. A ministerial inspection visited the facilities

The Minister of Culture of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina, together with the Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Vadim Vasiliev, inspected the progress of work on cultural heritage sites of federal significance in Bakhchisarai and Feodosia.

Repair and restoration work continues at six sites of the Khan’s Palace complex (“Count’s (suite) building”, “Khan’s kitchen”, “Main building”, “Harem”, “Khan’s mosque (II stage)”, “Gardens and park structures”) work on building interiors and facades, installation of internal engineering systems. It was noted that the completion and acceptance of work at the “Harem” and “Khan Mosque” sites are planned ahead of schedule in December 2023. The remaining facilities are planned for acceptance by the end of 2024— reported the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

In addition, based on the results of additional archaeological surveys carried out within the boundaries of the design solutions, archaeological elements subject to museumification were identified, and therefore appropriate instructions were given to make changes to the design solutions regarding the passage of external utility networks as soon as possible

When inspecting the object “The House in which the artist I.K. lived” Aivazovsky» together with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk indicated that the work has been completed in full. Currently, the procedure is underway to transfer the restored object to the Municipal Budgetary Institution of Culture “Feodosia Art Gallery named after I.K. Aivazovsky» for the placement of art collections and exhibition equipment.
