How the fishing gang lives in Alupka
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The head of the Yalta administration, Yanina Pavlenko, together with the chairman of the Yalta city council, Konstantin Shimanovsky, visited a fishing artel that has existed in Alupka since time immemorial. Today, 65 fishermen work here; in a good season, they catch up to 80 tons of fish, which they sell at prices significantly lower than store prices (30 rubles per kg).
The authorities are trying to preserve the artel, and improve the coastal area of Alupka, and not to offend the fishermen, and to put the artel’s documents in order. There are difficulties.
We are now waiting for funds from the Reserve Fund of the Russian Federation to restore the embankments and beaches of Alupka after the “storm of the century.” And it is extremely important to link the unique artel with the general concept of improvement. Together with fishermen, architects, designers, we are thinking about how to put the territory in order, finalize documents, resolve the issue of access — the only road passes through the territory of the Vorontsov Palace— told Yanina Pavlenko.
According to her, there is a good idea — to organize a fish market nearby, which will definitely be in demand by both local residents and guests. Moreover, the “artel fish market” can also become a tourist attraction in Alupka.
