I am an artist, this is how I see it: the demand for creative professionals has grown by 30% in a year

Many Russians are thinking about starting a career in the creative field, but are often afraid of income instability and problems with demand in the labor market. Avito Rabota experts analyzed average market data on creative vacancies for the first quarters of 2023 and 2024 and identified a rating of the most in-demand and highly paid creative professions.

The results of the study showed that in the first quarter of this year, the number of vacancies for creative specialists increased by 30% year on year, and the average salary offers for new employees increased by 19% and reached 76,149 rubles per month,” noted the service’s press service.

The highest dynamics of growth in the number of vacancies was demonstrated by the professions of sound engineer (+55%), videographer (+48%), video editor (+46%), musician (+38%) and actor (+32%).

At the same time, the average salaries offered in creative professions have also increased year on year. In the first quarter of this year, new candidates for a model vacancy could expect an average of 28% more compared to the first quarter of last year, candidates for the position of actor or designer — 20%.

At the same time, the highest-paid profession on the market in the first quarter of 2024 was the architect profession — employers were ready to offer new employees an average of 108,187 rubles per month for full-time employment. For model vacancies, candidates were offered an average of 98,358 rubles this year, and designers — 87,202 rubles per month. The TOP-5 well-paid professions also included the positions of videographer and actor — in the first quarter of 2024, new employees for these positions could count on an average of 83,997 and 77,900 rubles per month, respectively.
