In Alushta, a criminal case regarding the felling of green spaces was sent to court

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Alushta, the prosecutor’s office approved a criminal indictment against a 48-year-old local resident. He is accused of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal felling of trees not classified as forest plantations, committed on an especially large scale, by a group of persons by prior conspiracy).

As the investigation established, in January 2022, the accused, having hired two men for a monetary reward to act as lumberjacks, committed illegal cutting of trees growing in close proximity to his property. Illegal actions were carried out with the aim of clearing this municipal site and further using it for commercial activities. As a result of the illegal actions of this group of persons, damage was caused in the amount of 173 thousand rubles— reported the republican prosecutor’s office.

The criminal case was sent to the Alushta City Court for consideration on the merits. Previously, the court considered criminal cases against two accomplices, with whom the prosecutor entered into pre-trial cooperation agreements. By court verdicts, which entered into legal force, they were sentenced to 6 months of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 1 year.
