In Crimea, at the Meganom Academy, Yuri Bashmet will discover new names of symphonic music

From July 16 to July 23, the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries (Tavrida.ART project) will be filled with the sounds of classical music. The educational program «Yuri Bashmet Academy» will bring together young artists from all over Russia to increase the demand for new academic music. The highlight of the program will be the Stars of Meganom classical music festival and the performance of the symphony orchestra led by the Legend of Taurida, Yuri Bashmet.

The author’s program «Yuri Bashmet Academy» at the Academy of Creative Industries «Meganom» is a full-fledged educational course curated by the best masters of the music industry for young conductors, sound engineers, orchestra artists and composers. The main mission of the training is to support young professionals and increase interest in new academic music in Russia. The ideological inspirer and leader of the educational program is the violist, conductor, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation, People’s Artist of the USSR, Legend of Taurida, winner of four State Prizes of the Russian Federation and the Grammy Award, Yuri Bashmet. The program is supervised by Anna Khramova, music producer of the Tavrida art cluster, and Dmitry Grinchenko, director of the Russian Concert Agency, is among the experienced mentors.

The educational program will be held from July 16 to 23 at the site of the Meganom Academy. The participants of the course are waiting for a series of master classes and workshops in the field of performing arts and creating compositions from the leaders and artists of the best teams in the country. Among the experts of the program are People’s Artist of Russia, Professor of the Moscow Conservatory, Honorary Chairman of the Union of Composers of the Russian Federation Alexander Tchaikovsky, Russian composer, pianist, teacher, laureate of all-Russian and international competitions Kuzma Bodrov, composer, author of musicals, symphonic and chamber music, music for theater and cinema Anton Tanonov, artist of the GSO «New Russia», laureate of all-Russian and international competitions, soloist and first violin of the All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra Anastasia Timoshenko, conductor of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society, laureate of international and all-Russian competitions Nikolai Tsinman and others. During the week, program participants will hone their musical skills in playing musical instruments and create their own works. As a result of the educational program, with the support of the music label of the Tavrida art cluster, a collection of author’s compositions by young musicians will be released.

The key event of the program will be the First Meganom Stars Classical Music Festival, which will open up new names of contemporary academic art. The festival is held in support of young names and national musical culture. A part of the festival will be chamber concerts of quartets of symphony orchestra members. The basis of the musical program will include works by young Russian composers and recognized masterpieces of classical music. In addition, one of the days will be devoted to the work of Sergei Rachmaninoff.

The festival will open on July 20 with the performance of musicians at the finals of the All-Russian competition «Big Break» for students in grades 5-7 in Artek. The festival will also include a concert of soloists of the symphony orchestra and composers who will present author’s works at the House of Champagne in the New World. This year the winery will celebrate its anniversary — 145 years since the opening. In addition to the concert, the wine cellars and tunnels will house works by talented artists from the Tavrida art cluster.

The Stars of Meganom Classical Music Festival will end on July 22 with a big concert of the symphony orchestra led by Yuri Bashmet. Masterpieces of classical music and works by young composers will play at sunset right on the coast of the Akademichesky beach. Young and promising participants of the educational program will join the team of the master and the Legend of Taurida as conductors.

The program of the Meganom Academy was developed jointly with the best musicians in Russia in order to pass on all the accumulated experience to the next generation of composers, conductors and performers.
