He recalled that the Republic of Crimea has already appealed to the courts, initiating the establishment of Ukrainian responsibility and compensation for damage caused by the water and energy blockades of the peninsula.

On October 10, 2023, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea registered a claim by the Public Chamber of Crimea to recognize the right of Crimeans to compensation for moral damage caused as a result of the water blockade of the peninsula organized and carried out by Ukraine.

On October 25, 2023, the Arbitration Court of Crimea fully satisfied the claim of the Crimean parliament to recover 152.6 billion rubles from Ukraine for damage caused by the water blockade of the peninsula.

On March 4, 2024, the Arbitration Court of Crimea registered a claim for recovery from Ukraine of damage to the regional budget due to the energy blockade of the peninsula; the damage was estimated at more than 3.156 trillion rubles,” said the first vice-speaker of the State Council of the Republic.

Efim Fiks is confident that after the water and energy blockades, an assessment of the damage from the financial blockade of the peninsula will be carried out. He also recalled that «after the return of Crimea to Russia, all accounts of Crimeans were blocked, many people were left without a livelihood«
