In Crimea, zoos, zoo corners, dolphinariums and a circus received licenses for the use of animals

According to information of the Southern Interregional Department of the Rosselkhoznadzor, 28 enterprises engaged in the maintenance and use of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes.

Based on the results of inspections of enterprises, on the basis of applications from economic entities, the Rosselkhoznadzor decided to issue perpetual licenses for the right to carry out activities.

Based on the results of inspections of enterprises, due to non-compliance with licensing requirements, the Rosselkhoznadzor decided to refuse to grant licenses to 5 applicants. The main violations are such as not providing space and environment that meet the needs of animals for physical activity necessary to maintain their well-being; the availability of enclosures that take into account the species characteristics of animals and their size is not provided; there is no opportunity for bathing crane-like, charadriiform, stork-like, anseriform and large birds of prey when they are kept; natural soil (land or lawn) is not provided for predatory animals in outdoor enclosures; requirements for the use of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes and their maintenance, etc. Enterprises have the right to eliminate the identified violations and re-apply to the Rosselkhoznadzor with a statement.

We remind you that from January 1 27 in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Law of Russia dated 27.12.27 No. 498-FZ «On on Responsible Treatment of Animals and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” activities for the maintenance and use of animals in zoos, zoos, circuses, zoo theatres, dolphinariums and oceanariums without a license are not allowed.
