In Evpatoria, a man tried to bribe an employee of the State traffic inspectorate

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Evpatoria, traffic police officers stopped a Honda Lead moped, driven by a 60-year-old local resident, who was driving a vehicle, with signs of intoxication. Employees of the State traffic inspectorate removed the man from driving a moped and offered to undergo an examination on the spot or in a medical institution for intoxication, but the driver refused.

For not bringing to administrative responsibility, the citizen persistently offered the traffic police officers a monetary reward in the amount of 5,450 rubles. The driver was repeatedly explained that his actions were illegal and criminal liability was provided for, but he ignored the warning and left the specified amount in the patrol car. For further investigation, an investigative-operational group was called to the scene, which recorded the fact of an attempt to bribe traffic police inspectors, — the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.

With regard to the driver, protocols were drawn up under Part 1 of Art. 12.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Failure by the driver of a vehicle to pass a medical examination for intoxication) and 12.6 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Driving a moped without a motorcycle helmet). The vehicle has been placed in the parking lot.

The inquiry unit on this fact initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 291.2 (Petty bribery) and Part 1 of Art. 30 (Preparation for a crime and attempted crime) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is imprisonment for up to one year.
