On May 9, Sevastopol celebrates Victory Day and the 80th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazi invaders. On the occasion of the double holiday, a ceremonial meeting and a festive concert “There was no rear here, there was a front everywhere!” took place at the Fishermen’s Palace of Culture.

These days we held many events: we opened the “Bayonet and Sail” obelisk after restoration, returned the eternal flame to the “Soldier and Sailor” monument, and an exhibition of Alexander Deineka’s painting “Defense of Sevastopol” opened at the art museum. But most importantly, we remember our heroes, our defenders, who went to their death to liberate Sevastopol because they loved it with all their hearts. People won because they knew that the white-stone city should be free.
