In Krasnoperekopsk, a local resident was convicted of attempting to murder his wife
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Krasnoperekopsk interdistrict prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 35-year-old local resident. He is charged under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 1 art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder), part 1 of Art. 330 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (arbitrariness).
The court found that in November last year, the convict, while intoxicated, inflicted several blows on the latter with a kitchen knife during a conflict with his wife. However, the man was unable to complete his criminal intent because neighbors arrived to help the victim. In order to limit the possibility of calling law enforcement officers, the man picked up the victim’s mobile phone and fled with it. The convict was promptly detained by internal affairs officers— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the convicted person to 6 years and 6 months in prison with a fine of 50 thousand rubles. He will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
