In Russia — Week of responsible attitude towards reproductive health and pregnancy

CrimeaPRESS reports:

From January 22 to 28, Russia is celebrating the Week of Responsible Attitude towards Reproductive Health and Healthy Pregnancy.

One of the reasons for decreased reproductive function in men is hypogonadism, a clinical syndrome caused by insufficient production (deficiency) of androgens. Androgens play a key role in the development and maintenance of reproductive and sexual function in men. Testosterone levels in the blood decrease as we age. Eating a healthy diet, getting enough physical activity, quitting tobacco and alcohol is the key to maintaining reproductive health for many years. Smoking and drinking alcohol by a woman during pregnancy increases the risk of stillbirth. There are various safe contraceptives for women to protect against unwanted pregnancy, but they do not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. Conceiving a child should be a conscious decisionexperts note.

It is necessary to undergo preventive examinations with medical specialists (gynecologists for women and urologists for men) regularly, which will prevent the appearance and development of many diseases at an early stage, even in the absence of complaints. When planning a pregnancy, a woman needs to make up for all the deficiencies in the body and adhere to the principles of a healthy diet before and during pregnancy so that it is comfortable and a healthy baby is born. Physical activity during pregnancy should be reasonable and as recommended by your doctor.
