In Sevastopol, annual inflation has not changed
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Annual price increase in the region in October 2023 made up 7.6%, the same as a month earlier. Inflation dynamics were restrained by cheaper delivery of goods to the region against the backdrop of falling fuel prices.
In October, the annual rate of increase in motor fuel prices slowed down. This happened after its offer expanded: the Government of the Russian Federation introduced temporary restrictions on fuel exports, in addition, full compensation payments were restored to producers selling this product at regulated prices.
Due to lower fuel prices, it has become cheaper to import food to the Crimean Peninsula, and therefore, in annual terms, the rise in prices for fruits, vegetables and fish products has slowed down. It is also for this reason that the annual growth rate of food prices in October decreased to 9.6% (from 9.9% in September).
On the other hand, the cost of import-dependent goods continued to be affected by the previous weakening of the ruble. Therefore, in the non-food sector, in annual terms, electrical goods and furniture fell more slowly in price, smartphones became more expensive, and the rise in prices for cars and building materials accelerated— the press service of the manager of the Sevastopol Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation quotes Mikhail Bezhan.
Annual inflation in the Southern Federal District in October 2023 was 7%, in Russia — 6.7%. Read more about price dynamics in Sevastopol in informational and analytical commentary.
