The grand opening of the Championship of Sevastopol among cruising yachts of the ORC class took place at the Grafskaya pier. Competitions are held as part of the Sevastopol Sails festival. More than people take part in the races, most of them represent Sevastopol. In addition, athletes from Evpatoria, Simferopol, Taganrog, Krasnodar, Sochi and Armenia compete for medals. On the first day of competition yachts, divided into three starting groups by tonnage, temporarily covered the established distances.
Holding the festival in the city of Sevastopol has already become a good tradition. There were yachts in this class, and this is our own record for our event. We gladly hosted athletes from Evpatoria, who had not participated for several years in a row. Representatives of the delegation from Armenia became our guests of honor, in connection with which the festival acquired an international status , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Deputy Head of the Department for Youth and Sports Maria Blyakher.
The start of the race took place within the boundaries of the Sevastopol Bay, and the final competitions will be held in the area of the Kazachya Bay.
