In Sevastopol, police officers conduct professional conversations with labor collectives on combating fraud
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The next meeting of law enforcement officers with city residents was held at the Sevastopol Academic Russian Drama Theater named after A.V. Lunacharsky. The event was attended by Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky District, Police Lieutenant Colonel Maxim Blumbakh, local police officers, management and staff of the drama theater.
In his speech, the deputy head of the Department of Internal Affairs spoke about the most common remote fraud schemes: theft of money under the pretext of protecting a bank account, “Your relative caused an accident,” a loan on behalf of a friend, transferring money to false brokers and theft when making online purchases.
The one who deceives money from our citizens not only uses fake accounts and false numbers, he is often not even in our country. These are very cynical people who do not hesitate to take the last money from a 90-year-old grandmother— quotes the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol, Maxim Blumbach.
The speaker drew attention to the fact that anyone can become a victim of remote scammers, regardless of their age or type of activity, because criminals invent new deception schemes and improve old ones.
The police lieutenant colonel called on the theater staff to be vigilant, and if you receive calls from unknown people reporting any financial problems or relatives in trouble, remember that these are scammers calling.
At the end of the meeting, those present thanked the police for the informative event and asked questions on the topic of fraud prevention.
