In Sevastopol, two employees of one of the city universities were detained — they are suspected of bribery

The police found that the 41-year-old head of the department of one of the city’s universities offered his 53- summer subordinate to act as an intermediary in the transfer of illegal monetary rewards from students for closing their exam debts without actually testing knowledge and passing disciplines. The woman agreed, and in the future, realizing the criminal intent, she agreed with two students to resolve the issue with the debts they had in their studies for 50 thousand rubles. Having received money from one of them, the suspect left herself 20 thousand in payment for intermediary services, and the rest — gave thousands of rubles to her boss as a bribe , — the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
As a result of operational-search activities by the police, all participants in the corruption scheme were detained. In the course of searches in the offices of the university and in the places of residence of the defendants, money received as a bribe was seized, as well as draft notes confirming the illegal activities of the suspects.
The investigating authorities of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol initiated criminal cases against the suspects under Part 3 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Receiving a bribe» and Part 2 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Mediation in bribery”.
Currently, investigative actions and operational-search activities are ongoing, aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the criminal activities of the defendants.
