In Simferopol, members of an organized group who tried to sell about 1.5 kg of “salt” were convicted
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Simferopol, the court heard a criminal case against two local residents. They were found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 30, hh. 4, 5 tbsp. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted sale of narcotic drugs).
It was established that in January 2022, the men became members of a criminal group engaged in the illegal sale of narcotic drugs in the territory of the Republic of Crimea via the Internet. In accordance with the assigned roles, they performed the functions of “couriers”. In April 2022, the defendants received information about the location of a wholesale shipment of drugs N-methylephedrone, mephedrone and cocaine with a total weight of more than 1.4 kg. The men transported the prohibited substances seized in a sparsely populated place to the house, where they packaged them in more than 400 packages for subsequent sale by setting up hiding places— reported the prosecutor’s office.
They were unable to sell the drugs due to the suppression of their illegal activities by officers of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the men to 9 and 10 years in prison. Convicts will serve their sentences in a maximum security penal colony.
