Over 25 exhibits made of porcelain, faience, stone and clay make up the exposition of the temporary exhibition «Small Plastic Products ( art ceramics) in the KEM collection”, presented in the Crimean Ethnographic Museum.
Small plastic art or sculpture of small forms is the most common type of sculpture art, which includes figurines of people and animals, amulets and medallions, Japanese netsuke and toys ranging in size from 4 to 63 cm in height. A wide variety of materials are used: stone, clay, metal, porcelain, glass and wood. Small plastic has always been a part of human life, from which you can learn about the life of the people, about the culture of bygone eras , — said the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
Among the presented items are souvenir toys, decorative figurines, ceramic figurines of animals and people, household and handicraft items made in Germany, Greece, Portugal, Ukraine, Russia, the USSR in the period of the 19th-21st centuries, as well as the work of modern Crimean masters. arts and crafts.
The exposition is supplemented with paintings by the artist Georgy Yulovsky (Alushta).
