In the first quarter, Sevastopol residents paid with bank cards 32 million times
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In the first three months of 2023, the number of transactions for paying for goods and services with bank cards in Sevastopol increased by 30% compared to the same period last year. The amount of such settlements amounted to 18.6 billion rubles, and their share in the total number of transactions with cards exceeded 92%. As of April 1 this year, almost 14,000 ATMs and electronic terminals were installed in the region, which is 6% higher than the same indicator of last year.
Growth is largely due to the effectiveness of the project to ensure financial inclusion, which we are implementing jointly with the Government of Sevastopol and the banking sector in the region. There are now 32 payment infrastructure devices per thousand citizens— the press service of the Deputy Governor of the Sevastopol Branch of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Yuri Solomennik, quotes.
The number of payment cards has also grown in the region. As of April 1, their number increased by 21% compared to the same date last year, exceeding 884 thousand units, that is, an average of 2 for each inhabitant of the region.
