Repair work in the park near the monument to Yuri Gagarin has already started. They are carried out within the framework of an agreement between the Government of Sevastopol and the Government of Moscow.

Previously, we were here on laying with the governor. He set the task to work out the issue of landscaping the square in this area and implement measures. After the development of the project, discussions with residents and the public, taking into account all the comments, we began to improve the public space , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department of urban economy Yevgeny Gorlov.

The total square area is about 10 thousand square meters. It is planned to install a playground at the site, small architectural forms — bins and benches, equip pedestrian alleys with shade canopies and gazebos, an approach path to the monument, as well as overhaul the monument itself. An outdoor lighting system with decorative illumination of green spaces, irrigation and video surveillance systems will appear in the park. In dangerous areas — near the slopes — a special fence will be provided to ensure the safety of citizens.

In addition, thematic zones will be set up at the facility, where information stands with historical data about the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin will be placed.

Landscaping is carried out by the contracting organization Aves-Stroy. According to director Yevgeny Pavlenko, two pieces of equipment and more than people are working at the facility.

Started work two weeks ago. A fence has been installed to ensure the safety of work, dismantling and earthworks are being carried out for laying engineering networks. By the end of this year, it is planned to complete the improvement , — emphasizes Evgeny Pavlenko.

Recall that this year, the improvement of four squares was completed ahead of schedule within the framework of the federal project «Formation of a comfortable urban environment» of the national project «Housing and Urban Environment».
