The republican initiative budgeting program “Crimea as we want” helps preserve the memory of the Great Victory. Today in the village of Kotelnikovo, Krasnogvardeisky district, the opening ceremony of the updated Memorial Sign to fellow villagers who took part in the Great Patriotic War took place.

As Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Ivan Furs said following the event, on the territory of the Kotelnikovsky rural settlement there are two monuments in honor of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. One of the monuments was restored this year thanks to the initiative budgeting project competition “Crimea as we want.” The memorial sign was opened in 1985 — it had long been in need of repair, and there was also a need to improve the surrounding area.

Thanks to the “Crimea as we want” program, residents of the village of Kotelnikovo solved a public-social problem: they brought the monument dedicated to their fellow villagers into decent condition: the stele was repaired, the bas-relief and memorial plaque were replaced, marble tiles were installed at the foot of the stele, the “Eternal Flame” system was repaired «, new flower beds and paving slabs were installed. I am confident that the residents of the Kotelnikovsky rural settlement will continue to create successful initiative projects, win and implement their planssaid Ivan Furs.
