In the Saki district, operatives returned a stolen car to the victim

In the Saki region, a resident of one of the local villages contacted the police. He reported the theft of a car belonging to his mother. It turned out that the car had previously been left for repairs to a fellow villager. When they arrived to pick up the car, neither the repairman nor the car was there. The owner of the auto repair shop did not contact the owner of the vehicle.
Police officers quickly located the missing car. In one of the coastal villages, in the courtyard of the house where a friend of the person who came under suspicion lives, a vehicle was discovered and seized, and the man was detained. The car has now been returned to the victim. The 39-year-old suspect said that he decided to go on a visit in someone else’s car.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Based on the elements of the crime provided for in Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Wrongful seizure of a car without the purpose of theft”), a criminal case was initiated. The perpetrator may face a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison.
