In the Simferopol region, the police discovered a drug plantation… in the attic
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The second surprise is the explanation of why the Crimean grew the “potion”.
As a result of operational search activities, employees of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea detained a 48-year-old local resident at his place of residence in the Simferopol district. A Crimean citizen is suspected of cultivating drug-containing plants.
The man equipped unique greenhouses in a separate extension on the territory of his household, as well as in the attic of his home. Having insulated the premises with insulating material, he installed fans and phytolamps in them, and then placed containers with soil in which he planted hemp. The drug dealer regularly looked after escapees.
As a result of search operations, police officers seized 79 pots with drug-containing plants from small plantations, as well as all the equipment used for cultivation. The study confirmed that the seedlings contain a psychoactive substance characteristic of cannabis— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The detainee explained that he started growing hemp, allegedly to get rid of alcohol addiction on the advice of his late friend, who left him the seeds of the plants.
A criminal case was opened against the suspect by the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Simferopol region on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
