A suspect in car theft was detained in Yalta. As reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea, the crime was solved “hot on the trail.”
A 38-year-old local resident contacted the Yalta police with a report of the theft of a Mazda car. As a result of a complex of operational-search activities carried out by criminal investigation officers together with employees of the canine service with the involvement of a service dog, the identity of the attacker was “hot on the trail” and he was detained. The suspect turned out to be a previously convicted 37-year-old local resident, who explained that he committed the theft for the purpose of revenge on the basis of a personal hostile relationship with the husband of the owner of the car.— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Police officers seized a Mazda car and returned it to its rightful owner. The investigator of the police department No. 2 “Livadiysky” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendant faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.
