In Yalta, criminal investigation officers detained a young man suspected of robbery

A 23-year-old young man filed a complaint with the Yalta police. The victim reported that on one of the streets located in the central part of the city, an unknown man stole his bag with personal belongings. The amount of damage caused amounted to 29 thousand rubles.

It was established that during an evening walk the victim was approached by a stranger. The attacker drove up on a hoverboard and offered to help transport the heavy bag that the applicant was holding. The young man was pleasantly surprised and, trusting his interlocutor, handed over a bag containing a mobile phone, cash, jewelry and documents. Having got what he wanted, the suspect fled with someone else’s property on his hoverboard.— the details of the incident were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

As a result of operational and investigative measures, the criminal investigation officers managed to detain the offender in the shortest possible time. He turned out to be an 18-year-old local resident.

The young man confessed. Police officers discovered and seized the stolen property.

The investigator of the police department No. 3 “Massandra” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of four years in prison. The defendant was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place.
