In Yalta, officers detained a suspect in the attempted sale of a large consignment of drugs

As a result of operational search activities, employees of the drug control department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yalta established the involvement of a 26-year-old local resident in activities related to drug trafficking.
During a search at the suspect’s place of residence, investigators found and seized 50 packages and a container with a white powdery substance, bank cards, a mobile phone, scales and packaging material. According to the attacker, the discovered substance is the synthetic drug “Salt”, which he acquired via the Internet for the purpose of further sale in the city of Yalta by placing bookmarks, — reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The expert’s conclusion confirmed the detainee’s testimony. The substance submitted for research, with a total mass of 99.31 g, contains a narcotic derivative of N-methylephedrone.
As employees of the drug control department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Yalta said, N-methylephedron, the so-called “Salt,” is a highly toxic and very concentrated synthetic drug. Its peculiarity is the rapid formation of addiction, and as a result, deterioration of well-being, chronic depression, and exhaustion of the body. One dose is enough to create a repeated craving for the substance.
An investigator from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yalta opened a criminal case against the attacker on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempt at the illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues, or their parts containing narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, on a large scale.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 10 to 20 years. The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
