CrimeaPRESS reports:

The municipal stage of the republican competition of family school teams “Family Hearth — 2024” took place on April 19 at Yalta secondary school No. 11.

The competition was organized by the Department of Education and Youth Policy of the Yalta Administration, the city methodological office with the support of the Dean of Churches of the Yalta District, Archpriest Adam Dmitrenko, and the Yalta Center for Social Services for Family, Children and Youth.

By decree of the President of the Russian Federation, 2024 was declared the Year of the Family. This competition was organized several years ago by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Crimea, the Simferopol and Crimean Diocese with the aim of reviving the spiritual traditions of family education, forming Orthodox views on family and family values, instilling respect for the older generation, implementing the Concept of Patriotic and Spiritual-Moral education.

Large families whose children study in schools No. 11 and No. 12 took part in the competition.

Family life is many days of work, love, gratitude, family traditions. In the Year of the Family, special attention is paid to preserving traditional family values. These values are the basis of a strong and happy family“, said Archpriest, rector of the Church of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers, assistant dean by education, Mikhail Petrov, in his welcoming speech.

Family is a diamond cut with love, a guarantee of stability and prosperity, a source of understanding and support. Holding such competitions revives the spiritual traditions of family education, restores trust between generations, and forms among young people a conscious attitude towards building a future family,” said Tatyana Shevchenko, deputy chairman of the jury, director of the Yalta Center for Social Services for Family, Children and Youth, addressing the competition participants.

The competition program consisted of 3 rounds: the team’s business card “Meet my family!”, a quiz on knowledge of the traditions of Orthodox family education — “Orthodox traditions of my family” and “Talents of my family”.
