In Yalta, they vaccinate against seasonal flu
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A vaccination campaign against seasonal influenza has begun in Yalta, and the employees of the Yalta Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the FMBA of Russia were the first to be vaccinated against this serious disease.
We received two types of vaccine for adults and children — the four-component Ultrix and the three-component Sovigripp. The entire vaccine has already been distributed to the structural subdivisions of the NMMC — to the children’s and adult polyclinics, to the outpatient clinic. So everyone can come for flu shots today— the press service of the head physician of the branch of the Federal Scientific and Practical Center of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia in Crimea, Tuyaara Sannikova, quotes.
Influenza vaccination usually lasts until the end of October, however, the final dates may vary depending on the start of the seasonal illness.
Influenza is a very dangerous disease, and its complications are especially terrible. The best way to prevent complications is through vaccinations. Vaccination ensures that a person does not get sick with a severe form of the flu, and most vaccinated people do not get sick at all or suffer a mild form of the flu— informed the therapist Vladimir Vorontsov.
Influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone without exception, while it can be given to children from 6 months and without upper age restrictions. Influenza vaccination is especially recommended for weakened people, those who have chronic diseases — diabetes mellitus, oncology in remission, hypertension and others, children who have allergic reactions. Also, doctors strongly recommend that pregnant women be vaccinated against the flu — for them and for the unborn child, this disease can be fatal, but the vaccine is absolutely safe for both the woman and the fetus.
In addition to the work of vaccination rooms, we also planned visits to enterprises, institutions and organizations in the Yalta region, a schedule has already been drawn up. The experience of covid times has shown that at the same time YMMC can send 14 special teams to different places in the Yalta region to carry out influenza vaccination. Any organization or enterprise can apply for vaccination at the workplace, and our specialists will arrive at the specified address— said Olga Eremina, head of the branch of the FSCC FMBA of Russia in Crimea.
Experts say flu epidemics can be avoided if 60 percent of the population is vaccinated. So how healthy we will be in the coming autumn and winter depends on each of us.
