International sports programming competitions started in Sevastopol

The project brought together participants from Sevastopol, the Republic of Crimea, Ryazan, Orenburg, Zaporozhye, Bryansk, Lipetsk regions, Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as from other states: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and South Ossetia. All teams have one task, and the one who copes with it more creatively and faster than the rest will win.

The Hero City of Sevastopol today hosts participants in the international sports programming festival “Code of the World”, which is being held for the first time and has brought together participants from five countries: Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, South Ossetia and Kyrgyzstan. These competitions are dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders. Over the course of three days, participants will have to solve a special case from the leading IT company T1 — they will create functional products that can solve real problems,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the city governor, Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Competitions in the discipline “product programming” — hackathon, they attracted more than 100 athletes. Participants aged 14 to 25 years will compete for the main prize of 400,000 rubles.

Participants will work to create functional products that can solve real-world problems. The results will be assessed by an expert jury of industry representatives. Participants will receive not only feedback, but also support from IT community professionals.

The total prize fund of the festival is 1,800,000 rubles, with awards for the first ten winners:

1st place — 400,000 rubles;
2nd place — 300,000 rubles;
3rd place — 250,000 rubles;
4th place — 200,000 rubles;
5th place — 150,000 rubles;
6-10 places — 100,000 rubles each.

There are four of us on the team, and it is completely ready! We have designers, that is, all the positions needed to develop a product. We are given three days of competition, during which there will be two checkpoints, and on the third day we will prepare our solution and defend it. Checkpoint is the moment where the judges check our progress and, accordingly, either give us instructions or tell us that everything is fine, – notes competition participant Seidali Seidametov.

A product programming hackathon will allow participants to show their creativity, learn to work in a team, apply their knowledge in practice, and find new perspectives for the development of their projects.

The closing ceremony and summing up will take place on June 1.
