January 23 and 24 in Sevastopol — forced weekend

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The reality is this: on Tuesday, January 23, water will be provided in Sevastopol from 9:00 to 11:00. The authorities honestly warn: it is not a fact that the pressure will be enough for all microdistricts and the upper floors of high-rise buildings. Then… you have to wait more than a day. The city’s water supply is planned to resume as normal on the evening of January 24.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor in Sevastopol, Anna Melyukh, spoke about the quality of the water supplied:

The sanitary and epidemiological situation is calm, the level of acute intestinal infections does not exceed the long-term average. As for the quality of drinking water, the laboratory now samples it every day — the water meets sanitary, hygienic, chemical and bacteriological indicators. We will continue monitoring, but we still recommend that residents, after supplying water and not receiving it for a long time, should settle and boil the water for drinking purposes.

In connection with the current situation in Sevastopol, it was decided to declare Monday, January 22, a short day — until 13:00, and Tuesday and Wednesday, January 23 and 24, as days off for all enterprises, organizations and institutions, except for emergency services.

Thus, on Wednesday our water supply is restored by 20:00. If it happens sooner, it will happen sooner. From Thursday, normal life in the city will resume. There are groups on duty in kindergartens, schools are closed for two days,” said Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.

The head of the city also gave a number of instructions.

We need to work on the logistics of water supply. There are a huge number of complaints about this. Now, thanks to the help of the Republic of Crimea and our Ministry of Defense, we have increased the number of water trucks to 20, plus there are machines for technical water that cannot distribute drinking water — about 5, they also need to be used. Service 112 will consolidate the acceptance of applications for the supply of water to places where it is especially urgently needed. Where we have not received water for a long time — the last three days — water trucks should be sent there as a prioritynoted Mikhail Razvozhaev.

He instructed to send volunteers to water distribution sites to help people bring water home. Another instruction is to work out the issue of interaction with commercial structures involved in water supplies — to consider the possibility of concluding a contract within the framework of an emergency situation so that they can distribute water to residents at the points of their work at the expense of the city budget.

The governor also instructed to organize points for the distribution of drinking water in gardening communities that use centralized wells, and to work out the issue of organizing a collection of water for Sevastopol residents on the territory of social institutions where water is supplied uninterruptedly — these are, for example, hospitals.

On behalf of the head of the city, the United Russia party is helping to provide drinking water to socially vulnerable categories of the population.

The task is to work out as technologically and compactly as possible, so that, taking into account these unprecedented measures that have to be introduced to stabilize the situation, the deadlines that have now been outlined are met. And plus, receive and respond to requests as much as possible online, taking into account feedback. It is clear that the situation is difficult, the degree of indignation is quite high, but taking into account that all the technological equipment at our water intakes is from the 70s and was subject to technical modernization only in the form of replacing individual elements, we have no other tools, We won’t perform any miracle here. We need to come to terms with this and just work efficiently to meet the deadlines“, the governor emphasized.

Mikhail Razvozhaev added that after solving acute problems, it is necessary to return to developing a program for modernizing the water supply system.

It is necessary to prepare a modernization program, return to the project of a closed water supply from the Chernorechensky reservoir to the third hydroelectric complex, modernize the third hydroelectric complex, install additional units, modernize filters. These are billions of rubles, but this program needs to be finalized. The sketches were made in different years, we need to update them to today’s realities. Let’s get out of the crisis and prepare a technological solution, go to the federal level, ask for supportsaid Mikhail Razvozhaev.
