KFU expert named sources and assessed the level of air pollution in Simferopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The statistics of the Ministry of Ecology for several years show that there is a trend towards an increase in the volume of pollutants entering the atmospheric air. This applies only to stationary sources: industrial and manufacturing enterprises or mining. Motor transport remains the main source of pollution for Crimea and cities. Scientists of the Department of Geoecology have been monitoring air pollution (AAP) in Simferopol for several years.
Over the past seven years, using special devices — gas analyzers, we have been conducting operational observations, fixing nine main air pollutants at 13 points located near stationary sources of emissions and on sections of roads where the greatest traffic congestion was revealed. By the way, the state monitoring system includes only nine stationary and route posts. Thus, the ZAV scientific monitoring system significantly complements the state one and allows you to get a more objective picture of the ecological state of the urban environment of Simferopol , — the press service of the university quotes the head of the Department of Geoecology of the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology and Tourism of the Tauride Academy of the Crimean Federal University Tatiana Beaver.
According to her, in the course of the study in the area of the state district power station and other industrial zones of Simferopol, as well as in the places of the busiest roads, there are excesses of the maximum permissible concentrations of substances such as carbon dioxide, benzene, hydrocarbons and formaldehyde, which creates an unfavorable environmental situation. Even in the city center, high levels of air pollution, such as formaldehyde, are recorded, which is explained by the high traffic load and the frequent occurrence of traffic jams.
These scientific monitoring studies will help not only to correctly build transport logistics in the city, but will also be of economic importance, in particular, when justifying the cost of housing in new buildings of the city located in different environmental conditions.
A square meter of living space is not cheap, and the ecological situation in different districts of Simferopol varies significantly. In my opinion, when forming the cost per square meter of living space in new buildings, it is necessary to take into account the assessment of the environmental situation, the quality of the natural environment in the future microdistrict , — Tatyana Bobra believes.
The problem of air pollution is one of the most serious environmental threats to human health and is relevant both at the regional level and for many Crimean cities, where car exhaust gases have become one of the main air pollutants .
According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, over the past three years, respiratory diseases are in first place in terms of the incidence of the population — up to 41% of all registered diseases, and atmospheric pollution has a significant impact on the occurrence of this class of diseases. air.
