KFU scientists have released natural cosmetics — from vegetable raw materials
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Scientists of the Crimean Federal University have developed a line of their own cosmetics, which include only natural ingredients. The basis of the products are oils obtained by cold pressing from vegetable raw materials on equipment developed by university specialists.
The oil that forms the basis of our cosmetics is obtained at a temperature not exceeding degrees. This allows you to save all the useful properties in it. Based on these oils, using natural emulsifiers, we get our products. Our cosmetics have a shelf life of no more than six months, while similar products on the market have a shelf life of up to 36 months. It is clear that they are far from natural , — the press service of the university quotes the leading researcher of the laboratory of automated systems of the Crimean Federal University Sergey Menyuk.
At the moment, scientists receive about types of oils from the seeds of milk thistle, chia, cumin, sage, rose hips, grapes , almond, walnut and coriander. Specialists have already released a collection of face and body creams.
First of all, we developed a technology for obtaining these creams and sent samples to an independent laboratory under the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. We received a positive conclusion from the laboratory, and then the Declaration of Conformity of the European Union. Today we are ready to enter the market with our products, — Sergey Menyuk notes.
According to experts, the biological waste of vegetable raw materials obtained after the extraction of oils, along with other types of waste, are used to create new multilayer composite materials. All equipment for waste processing was developed by scientists of the Crimean Federal University.
The innovativeness and novelty of this equipment and waste processing technology lies in the fact that as a result we get a new multilayer composite material with functional properties. With the help of our extruders, we can process a lot of types of waste (metal, household, construction, biological), obtaining products and materials for various purposes. The equipment we have developed for extracting oils and processing waste is protected by more than a hundred patents , — says the chief researcher of the laboratory of automated systems of the KFU. V. I. Vernadsky Valery Dyadichev.
The project is being implemented by scientists from the Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the Agrotechnological Academy and the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Crimean Federal University.
