Machine-readable power of attorney: The Russian Government will clarify the rules for storage and cancellation

CrimeaPRESS reports:

From September 21, 2023, one of the resources for storing a machine-readable power of attorney (the information system of the head certification center) will be replaced by the Unified identification and authentication system. It is to it that operators of other storage systems will transfer information about the document. The latest rule does not apply until March 1, 2024.

The list of information about the power of attorney, in particular, will be supplemented with its internal number and validity period. Anyone who uses the document will be able to obtain information, for example, through State Services. Personal data will not be provided. They will determine the minimum period for storing information about the power of attorney in the unified identification and authentication system — 5 years from the date of expiration of the document or the time of its cancellation.

Until March 1, 2024, these innovations will not apply.

From September 21, 2023, it will be clarified that the application to revoke a power of attorney must be certified with a qualified electronic signature.

There are other changes too.
