Meganom Academy will develop concepts for innovative materials for pedestrian zones of art spaces

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Academy of Creative Industries «Meganom» (project «Tavrida.ART») from September 24 to 29 is hosting a practical course for urbanists and materials scientists «Creaton: science as art.» As part of the program, scientists will develop innovative ideas for material formulations for covering pedestrian areas of art spaces, as well as approaches to their production. Urbanists, architects and creative space managers, together with scientists, will create concepts for the pedestrian infrastructure of the Tavrida art cluster using materials.

On September 24, the educational program “Creaton: Science as Art” launched at the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries. The purpose of the course is to search for innovative material for road surfaces of pedestrian zones of creative spaces, as well as to develop the logistics structure of the territory of the Tavrida art cluster. The producers of the program are the curator of the scientific direction “Tavrida.ART” Anna Kurochka and the Russian scientist in the field of culture, art and creative industries, head of the department of producing performing arts at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music Oleg Ivanov. The partners of the practical course “Creaton: Science as Art” are the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation and the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia (Nauka.rf).

As part of the program, urbanists involved in the modernization of the urban environment and architects working with the external environment will create projects together with materials scientists developing innovative materials with the further possibility of entering their production.

Creaton is aimed at two target audiences: urbanists and materials scientists. Moreover, urbanists will be creative — coming up with non-standard visual design for pedestrian zones, and materials scientists will work on the formulation of the material that will be used to implement these projects. I would like to note that within the framework of the program, leading scientists developing innovative materials and experts from the field of design and architecture — practicing specialists — are collaborating with us. Projects developed during the course can receive support from Tavrida, and the participants themselves have a chance to continue cooperation on a contract basis — this makes it possible to get a real case in their portfolio, says producer Anna Kurochka.

At the Meganom Academy, participants will create projects that have a real possibility of implementation in the proposed territories, and practical solutions for the development of track covering materials from environmentally friendly, mainly domestic materials using Russian technologies. In addition, specialists will formulate proposals for creating cost-effective production, and will also have the opportunity to scale their projects to other territories of Crimea and sites in the country.

Over the course of 5 days, course participants will explore the territory and potential resources of the youth educational resort «Tavrida.ART», together with invited experts, they will learn to competently package their projects and present them at the final defense. Among the experts of the program: moderator, consultant for the development of personal and professional qualities Fedor Shkurov, chief architect of the company SIEMI LLC, design development specialist at the Institute of Architecture and Design of YSTU Egor Zbaransky, professional improvisers and presenters, founders of improvisational theaters and improvisation school Pavel Vereshkin and Ruslan Morozov, managing partner of the Polis urban development institute; Alexander Krasavtsev, chief architect of the Center for Development of Urban Development, deputy head of MOSMA, professor of MAAM, founder of Architectural Coworking Pavel Sonin, chief technologist of the Kamenny Vek Group of Companies Artyom Novikov, founder of the Wooden bulldog architectural studio, participant in the Architectural competition school «MARCH» and the Alpbau company «Modern wooden architecture», practicing architect of private housing construction, glampings and moats, participant of the «Fazenda Life» program Vladislav Podolyanets.

Participation in Creaton will provide participants of this course with a very useful experience. We will work with a real object in a short time. The main emphasis in our program is on diverse competencies and real-life practice; it is important for us to create concepts that can be implemented in the near future, says the chief architect of the CPRD, deputy head of MOSMA, professor of MAAM, founder of Architectural Coworking Pavel Sonin.

The program gives young urbanists a chance to implement a creative project on the site of the Tavrida art cluster and gain its media support. Materials scientists participants will have the opportunity to develop a prototype of an innovative material, enter large-scale production and receive an order for its use for Tavrida.ART.

The Meganom Academy of Creative Industries is a new concept of an educational environment for young representatives of culture, art and creative industries, which has become the core of the Tavrida art cluster (a project of Rosmolodezh). The year-round educational center allows young professionals to gain knowledge under the supervision of recognized leaders in the field and take part in interactive projects prepared in collaboration with leading institutions and corporate partners.
