Mikhail Razvozhaev: “80 years have passed, and they still haven’t understood the answer that every Russian person knows”

Dear residents of Sevastopol, dear veterans, residents of besieged Sevastopol!

Congratulations on the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders!

Summing up the results of the Second World War, one of the foreign journalists wrote: “One of the mysteries of the war will remain the question of why, despite the overwhelming superiority of the Germans in tanks and aircraft, a significant superiority in people, Sevastopol managed to hold out for 250 days and why in 1944 the Russians took it for 4 days?»

80 years have passed, and they still haven’t understood the answer that every Russian person knows: our strength is in faith and people who love their Motherland and honor traditions. This is how it has always been and will be!

During the war, every square meter of Sevastopol land was literally strewn with deadly metal. In the plans of the Nazi command, Sevastopol, as the main base of the Black Sea Fleet, was the target of primary destruction. But the enemy, despite the assurances of the command that Sevastopol could be taken by storm, in one blow, was detained at the approaches to the city for 250 days. And during these 250 days the Nazis tried to take it three times!

Civilians also came to the defense of the city. Sevastopol residents, together with soldiers, erected defensive lines, joined the people’s militia, and created brigades to help the front.

And now, during a special military operation, the residents of Sevastopol rallied, just like then! This is our strength, this is the continuity of generations, the continuity of exploits!

Thanks to our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the attention of the whole country has been attracted to the anniversary date of the complete liberation of Sevastopol! This is our common history, our memory of the feat of the city, where every inch of land reminds of the heroes who, at the cost of their lives, defended, fought and liberated Sevastopol!
