Ministry of Emergency Situations warns farmers and motorists about… frosts in Crimea

The Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a storm warning about dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena in Crimea on 22 April. It is reported that at night and in the morning 22 of April in the steppe and foothill regions of Crimea, frosts of up to minus three degrees are expected on the soil surface. This information is especially important for motorists and farmers.

Under these conditions, there is a high probability of emergency situations and incidents associated with damage and death of agricultural crops, possible damage to flowering and blossoming buds of early stone fruit crops , — noted the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea recommends observing security measures:

— take measures to protect plantings;

— to protect plants from frost, cover them with a polymer film, non-woven material (spunbond), straw;

— also, dug up potatoes and root crops should not be left without shelter in the fields;

— drivers of motor vehicles, to be extremely careful on the road, not to exceed the speed limit and strictly follow the rules of the road.
